Primary TechniqueApplique

MATERIALS:

  • 1/4 yard terry toweling fabric OR a hand towel
  • 1/2 yard binding fabric or packaged double fold binding
  • Fabric scraps for appliqué
  • 1/4 yard fusible web product
  • Accuquilt Go! fabric cutter
  • Accuquilt Go! Critters (55030)
  • Accuquilt Go! 6" x 12" mat (55112)
  • Accuquilt Go! strip cutter 2-1/2" (55017)
     

Little Critters Baby Bib

 

CUTTING DIRECTIONS:

  • Cut 1—8" x 10" rectangle from toweling
  • Cut 65" of 2-1/2" wide strips on the bias for binding
  • Cut 1—appliqué shape with fusible web backing
     

SEWING DIRECTIONS:

  1. Round corners of toweling rectangle.
     
  2. Draw a 5" circle on paper (or use a saucer).
     
  3. Fold paper circle in half to use as pattern for neck cutout.
     
  4. Center half circle on top edge of toweling rectangle and trace.
     
  5. Cut along traced line.
     
  6. Bind curved neck edge.
     
  7. Bind outer edge of bib, leaving a 15" tail at back neck edges for tie.
     
  8. Center an appliqué shape on bib. Fuse according to manufacturer’s directions.
     
  9. Machine appliqué edges of appliqué shape adding detail as desired.
