Note: This pattern was designed using fabrics from the Folk Heart collection by Rosalie Quinlan for Lecien. Fabrics are coded in materials list.
MATERIALS:
- 10” (25 cm) of each of the following: 30392 (30, 20) 30394 (20, 30, 50) 30395 (30, 50) 30396 (20, 30, 50) 30397 (20, 30)
- 4 yd (3.65 m) white quilters' muslin – cut nine of 21”x 21” and eight strips measuring 4-1/2” x full width.
- 30” (75 cm) 30392 (30) for border - cut eight strips measuring 3-1/2” x full width,
- 20” (50 cm) 30397 (30) for binding - cut eight strips measuring 2-1/2” x full width.
- Fat Quarter 30394 (30) for circle centers
- Template for wedges and circles
INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut eighteen 15-degree Dresden wedges from each of twelve fabrics using a wedge template or shape pictured (click to enlarge).

Fold each wedge in half, right sides together, right along the length and sew together along the top raw edge only.

Trim corners and turn points right side out.

Sew nine sets of twenty-four wedges together using a 1/4” seam allowance to create nine Dresden plates.

Appliqué a Dresden plate to the center of each muslin square. Appliqué a circle to the center of each Dresden plate.

Sew the nine muslin blocks together in three rows of three.

From red border fabric, create two strips measuring 3-1/2” x 62” and sew to each side of the quilt. Create two strips measuring 3-1/2” x 68” and sew to both the top and bottom of the quilt.

From quilters' muslin border strips create two strips measuring 4-1/2” x 68” and sew to each side of the quilt.
- Create two strips measuring 4-1/2” x 76” and sew to both the top and bottom of the quilt.
