INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Place one 5-7/8" Fabric C square on top of one 5-7/8" Fabric B square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 1). Sew 1/4" away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 1). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 2) to make two half-square triangles (Fig. 3). Repeat to make twenty-eight half-square triangles.
-
Sew one 2" x 18-1/2" Fabric B strip to each side of the 18-1/2" Fabric A square. Sew one 2" x 21-1/2" Fabric B strip to the top and bottom of the Fabric A square to make one 21-1/2" center block (Fig. 4).
-
Refer to the corner unit layout to sew together the assorted 5-1/2" fabric squares, twenty-eight half-square triangle blocks, and twelve Fabric C triangles to make four corner units (Fig. 5).
-
Starting and stopping 1/4" from the center block edges, sew one corner unit to each side of the center block to make the quilt top.
-
Fold the quilt top in half, wrong sides together. Starting at the 1/4" point on one center block corner (represented with the arrow), sew together two adjacent corner units, represented with the dotted lines (Fig. 6).
-
Open the quilt top and press (Fig. 7).
- Layer, quilt, and bind as desired.
