The Dutch Pinwheel is one of the many quilt block patterns made from a number of different triangular pieces of fabric. In this free quilt block pattern, the triangles are sewn together in squares, and then pieced to create the Dutch Pinwheel motif.

I love this variation of the pinwheel block. The addition of the 3 half square triangles to the corners of the traditional pinwheel makes this so special and truly makes it look like a Dutch pinwheel. I would probably use cool blue colors for my quilt, but hey, that's me! What colors would you use to make this quilt?
