Monaluna's Fox Hollow collection takes the cake when it comes to woodsy, folksy fabrics! These whimsical prints (plus a few solids!) are full of playful forest motifs kept light and modern with an eclectic mix of colors. Your eyes will be drawn to the unusual contrast between light aquas, rich reds, soft pinks, and muted mossy greens. Although the colors might seem a little dissonant at first, the larger prints in the collection demonstrate how beautifully they come together in natural landscapes. In fact, it's quite refreshing to see such a unique color palette!

The base notes in this collection are two solids, a light pink and a moss green. Building on the foundation, designer Jennifer Moore adds two striped prints in aqua and white and red and white. (Tip: the red and white stripe makes a great stand-alone purchase for 4th of July projects!). In addition to these more sober fabrics, Fox Hollow offers a few medium prints with just a single motif each. An aqua background sets off rows of red foxes in bold contrast, and a slate grey background lets perfect red and white mushrooms star. The third medium print features a lighter green background covered in gray foxes.

The large prints are really the fantastic part about the Fox Hollow collection. Against crisp white backgrounds, the bold, colorful prints are magical. One features rows of forest critters, gnomes, unicorns, and other fun characters and scenes that will delight children and adults alike. The other two white prints are a bit more riotous, with flora and fauna filling every space available. Frogs, elves, snails, hedgehogs, tree stumps, acorns, and rain clouds are just a few of the fun pictures you'll see in these prints. The fourth large print features all kinds of woodland homes -- stump dwellings, mushroom buildings, and acorn cottages -- against an aqua background. I especially like the flamingo lawn ornament standing in front of a few houses!

The last print in the Fox Hollow collection is a checkered fabric that would be perfect for a cheater quilt! Different prints and motifs, as well as solid blocks, fill the patchwork blocks. It's a fabric that ties together the entire collection and lends it coherence. I would even recommend getting a yard of this fabric just for inspiration! It will help you to see how the colors and prints complement each other and give you ideas about how to combine them in a quilt.
