Madrona Road is a bright, color-saturated new line by Violet Craft for Michael Miller Fabrics. In hues of coral, hot pink, sunny orange, and chocolate brown, this cheerful line is exactly what you want to quilt with in late summer or fall.

Madrona Road is a floral, pastoral line. The large print in the collection, Farmstead, gives the whole line a sense of context. The petal-colored fabric features scenes of a rural flower field next to a barn painted with a Dresden plate and an old-fashioned pick-up truck carting flowers. A tree full of flowers of all different colors gives a magical feel to the rural motif. This juxtaposition between fantasy and farmsteads is repeated in the Memoir print, a neutral background covered in a handwritten story about Violet Craft's life, told as a fairytale. Snatches of lines about princesses, evil giants, and griffins run right alongside snippets about ducklings, donkeys, and a place to call home in this charming print.

Building on this theme, even the most basic prints in the Madrona Road line are reminiscent of farm life. A sketchy, cross-hatched Haystack print comes in chocolate, fuchsia, and tangerine. The other more graphic print is a broken herringbone pattern incorporating all three of those colors. Another set of Sprout prints features tiny seedlings in chocolate or white against dotted backgrounds in fuchsia, petal, and tangerine. A busy print against a chocolate background is chock full of pink, orange and white birds, flowers, and seed heads.Two floral prints in pink and orange are titled Wild Carrot after the familiar wildflowers they feature (you might also recognize them as Queen Anne's Lace!). The final print included in the fat quarter bundle is a large print with white and black morning glories against a saturated coral background.
