Patriotic Stars Quilt
The Patriotic Stars Quilt is the perfect project for the 4th of July, but you can also use it to decorate for Memorial Day, Flag Day, Veteran's Day, or Labor Day. The patriotic quilt blocks are made with blue stars against white squares and diamonds with red accents.

MATERIALS:
- 1 yard white background fabric
- ¾ yard blue fabric (includes border)
- 7⁄8 yard red fabric (includes binding and border)
- 1 yard backing fabric
- Accuquilt die cutting machine
- Accuquilt Star-2," 3," 4" (55028)
- Accuquilt 5" x 10" (55110)
- Accuquilt Strip Cutter-2½" (55017)
- Accuquilt Strip Cutter-1½" (55024)
- Accuquilt Half Square-2" Finished Triangle (Die packaged with fabric cutter)
- Accuquilt Square-2½" (Die packaged with fabric cutter)
- Accuquilt Square-4½" (Die packaged with fabric cutter)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cutting Directions:
White Fabric:
- Cut 9—4½" squares
- Cut 36—2½" squares
- Cut 72—2" half square finished triangles
Red Fabric:
- Cut 72—2" half square finished triangles
- Cut 4—2½" strips across width of fabric (WOF) for binding
- Cut 4—1½" strips across WOF for inner border
Blue Fabric:
- Cut 4—2½" strips across WOF for outer border
- Cut 13—3" stars with fusible web backing
- Cut 12—2" stars with fusible web backing
Sewing Directions:
- Make 72 red and white 2" half square triangle units.
- Pin and sew two half square triangle units together to form a flying geese unit as shown. Make 36 flying geese units.
- Center a 3" blue star on each 4½" white square. Fuse according to manufacturer’s directions.
- Machine appliqué edges of stars.
- Layout shapes for one block.
- Pin and sew together in three rows.
- Press seams toward squares.
- Pin and sew rows together to complete block. Make nine blocks.
- Pin and sew blocks together in horizontal rows.
- Press seams of alternating rows to right or left.
- Pin and sew rows together to complete quilt center.
- Press seams toward bottom of quilt.
- Center a 3" blue star on each block intersection and a 2" blue star in the diamonds formed by the flying geese units. Fuse according to manufacturer’s directions.
- Machine appliqué edges of stars.
- Add borders, adding the sides first, then top and bottom borders.
Quilting and Finishing:
- Layer batting between quilt top and backing.
- Pin or baste layers together.
- Machine quilt with an all-over design.
- Add binding, mitering corners.

Sad to see the direction require AccuQuilt. Why not Include Inklingo? At least that way I don't have to buy another clutter tool.
