    This easier than easy mug rug pattern is modeled after the classic rail fence quilt pattern. Alternating stripes of fabric in each block give the Rail Fence Quilt Mug Rugs a basketweave feel. You can also experiment with turning each rail fence block in a different direction to create larger geometric patterns. When you quilt the mug rug, stitch in the ditch to accent the colorful stripes.
