My mom taught me how to embroider when I was a child, but the blanket stitch was not one that she shared. This stitch became important to me as I learned how to quilt as an adult, since I used it to finish off appliques and also used it to make fun felt ornaments. I am so grateful for learning needlework early on from my mom. Did anyone else learn some type of needlework or embroidery techniques from their mom? If not, you can now learn so much online and this site is excellent for gaining new skills through the tutorials offered. Master a new technique in the new year and have fun creating a memory and teach your kids to embroider!
