Counting by Fives
Combine your favorite piecing techniques with traditional quilt patterns to make this adorable and easy quilt pattern. The Counting by Fives quilt is a traditional quilting pattern with a twist. The use of strip pieces adds a really interesting geometric flair that you do not often see in other lap quilt patterns. Make this pattern out of some bright colors or simple use old quilt fabric scraps to fill in the rectangle pieces. This would make a great baby quilt pattern, as well. Pretty, pretty, pretty quilt! The pattern kind of reminds me of flags that fly on boats and it has a nautical flavor to it. I think of this as a summer quilt for sure. If you are like me, you change out your bedding for the season and this quilt would be perfect for summer, when you think of things related to water-nautical themed things. What colors would you use?
