3/4 yard sashing fabric
3⁄8 yard fabric for border
3⁄8 yard binding fabric
1-3⁄8 yards backing fabric

Framed Charm Squares Baby Quilt

CUTTING DIRECTIONS:

Cut 13—1-1/2" strips across width of fabric (WOF) for sashing
Sub cut 6, 1-1/2" strips into 42, 1½" x 5" rectangles
Cut 4—2-1/2" strips across WOF for borders
Cut 4—2-1/2" strips across WOF for binding

SEWING DIRECTIONS:

Layout 36, 5" charm squares in a pleasing design.
Pin and sew 1-1/2" x 5" rectangles between charm squares and at both ends of each row. Press seams toward sashing.
Measure width of middle row of pieced squares and sashing.
Cut seven, 1-1/2" strips to this measurement.
Pin and sew trimmed strips between rows of pieced squares to complete quilt center. Press seams toward sashing.
Add border, adding the sides first, then top and bottom borders.

Optional: Appliqué of choice can be added to blocks.
