Birds and Branches Applique Wall Quilt
The Birds and Branches Applique Wall Quilt is a quick project that will spruce up any wall! This contemporary quilt wall art is made with appliqued birds and branches cut with an Accuquilt fabric cutter and then fused and quilted to a plain background. You can also cut out the birds and branches by hand if you prefer. In this project, the stitches around the edges of the appliques do double duty as quilting.

This is not a pattern but is a tutorial for making a very nice wall hanging. Unfortunately, the designer used dies meant to be used in a machine that most of us won't own, meaning we will not be able to reproduce the item exactly. The bird and leaf patterns given for this wool felt pillow: http://blog.craftsnthings.com/?p=3987 could be used to create a similar wall hanging, but only one bird is given for the smaller project. One is still expected to do the branches free-hand... Yet, if one looks around the web for other crafts featuring birds, branches, etc. one may find other usable patterns.

Lately more and more of the "patterns" do not include the applique pattern so that the people who don't own cutters are left in the cold when it comes to making a craft. Or the tutorial is just that a tutorial without a pattern, but suggestions are given where items can be purchased.

I fully agree with StewiesMama! I will not be buying the Go Cutter and would really appreciate the patterns for the appliques. Love your patterns and have enjoyed looking at them and making them...but please let us have the applique patterns. Thanks!!

Where is just the pattern, instructions and templates? Not many of us have a cutter and will be doing it the old-fashioned way,if we can ever get to the pattern and not all the fluff . Please help!! Thank you.
