Note: This quilt pattern is designed using fabrics from the Jungle Fever collection by Luella Doss and Andrea Schuster for FreeSpirit. Fabrics are coded in materials list.
MATERIALS:
- Panel from Jungle Fever Tree of Life LD27
- Swirls LD17 BLUE
- Caladium LD20BLUE
- Palm LD16 BLUE
- Check LD22
- (Optional ) applique birds and orchids
- Swirls LD17 PURPLE
- 60" x 60" Backing fabric
- 60" x 60" Batting
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Use Panel from Jungle Fever Tree of Life LD27. Cut out panel, leaving 1/4” seam allowance on all edges. Dimensions should be 36-1/2” x 36-1/2.”
- For the first tier of borders from Swirls LD17 BLUE, cut (2) strips measuring 2” x 36-1/2” and (2) strips measuring 2” x 39-1/2.”
- For the second tier of borders. Cut (4) strips from Caladium LD20BLUE measuring 6-1/2” x 39-1/2”, cut (4) 6-1/2” squares from Palm LD16 BLUE.
- For the third tier of borders from Check LD22, cut (2) strips 2” x 51-1/2" and (2) 2” x 54-1/2.”
- (Optional ) Applique birds and orchids. Iron on fusing medium to back of fabric of (2) flying birds and (2) sitting birds and (1) orchid. Cut out and position onto patchwork and iron on.
- Binding: cut Swirls LD17 PURPLE to your favorite width.
- Use your choice of backing and batting to equal a 60” square.
